Role Benefit: Multi-billion dollar business in Australia affiliated with global resource giant with presence across 100 countries.
This organisation is both a multi-billion dollar organisation and resource giant. They are part of a larger global business group which have an enormous presence across 100 countries. They are an instantly recognisable business and are consistently experiencing growth and expansion. This Senior Internal Auditor will lead and develop the internal audit function within Australia. Over time, this role will reach internationally across the globe so will provide the right candidate an opportunity like no other.
Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, this Senior Internal Auditor will essentially focus on three main areas; development of the internal audit process and protocols; conducting regular departmental audits and reporting; and then influencing the business operation to make positive improvements and change. This role will have responsibilities that extends past functional auditing, although this will be the main focus of the role.
This Senior Internal Auditor will have a fairly visible role and will have regular interaction with the Executive Leadership Team. Therefore your communication and influencing skills will come to play. Part of your responsibility is not only to prepare the Audit Committee Reporting but also to present your findings on key risk areas the business faces. Simply stating the risk won't suffice but also presenting value add and change management options for the business is where the role will head.
As the Senior Internal Auditor you will develop strong relationships cross functionally within the organisation and use your influencing and rapport building skills to make necessary process changes along the way. If you are both a people person and someone who enjoys a leadership audit role, this could be the role for you.
You are CA/CPA qualified with significant experience from a big 4/mid tier audit background or within Internal Audit. In addition to this you have experience in audit reporting and influencing key stakeholders in change suggestions that will benefit the business. Your attitude towards auditing is one of "how can we make the business better" and not necessarily only risk focused. The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and will enjoy leading an end to end audit.
