Role Overview
Reporting into the Financial Controller, the Senior Financial Accountant will take full ownership of the financial accounting and reporting function for this business unit within this diversified and privately held business conglomerate. This individual will be a motivated and collaborative team player who will enjoy rolling up their sleeves, be hands on in all aspect of finance and will ultimately be responsible for delivering accurate and timely month end results. This is a strong 2IC support role to the Financial Controller and as the Senior Financial Accountant you will provide day to day operational leadership to the Accounts Payable Officer and the Accounts Receivable Officer.

The Job / Duties / Responsibilities
As the Senior Financial Accountant you will be responsible for:
* Leading month end, preparation of financial reports, analysis and commentary
* Managing the external audit process and co-ordination with external auditors
* Maintaining the General Ledger, ensuring that journal entries are accurate and timely
* Preparing General Journals and Balance Sheet reconciliations
* Monthly BAS preparation
* Preparing FBT return
* Preparing payroll tax returns
* Managing the external audit process
* Processing bank reconciliations.
* Review and first approval all local and international payments.
* Review and first approval for all trade finance requests.
* Purchase foreign exchange contracts for settlement of trade finance and international purchases.
* Assisting the Group Financial Controller in Board Pack preparation
* Assisting the Group Financial Controller in annual budget and monthly forecast preparation
* Business Partnering
* Ad-hoc tasks and special projects as required

Candidate Profile
You will be CA/CPA qualified and possess solid hands on experience in the financial accounting and reporting process as with tax compliance. Your strong attention to detail will ensure that the accounting and reporting is accurate and complete which will allow reliable monthly performance commentary and deep dives into variance analysis. This will create valuable insight to assist senior management with achieving business goals.

You enjoy delivering process improvement and hence will be comfortable to work with the Financial Controller and the business to build finance best practice. You will be well versed with implementing business controls in a changing and growing business environment. Exposure to an ERP implementation will be highly regarded along with solid experience in tax compliance and reporting matters. Possessing strong communication skills, you will have the ability to collaborate and influence in a supportive and constructive manner.
