Reporting directly to the Finance and Administration Manager this Property Accountant will proactively manage the organisation's asset portfolio including retail stores, distribution warehouses, their corporate headquarters, and their landbanks. You will bring your accounting background and experience to uncover any issues around asset management that the company is experiencing and add value. You will be responsible for fixed assets register maintenance, property asset maintenance, general ledger reconciliations, audit, and tax depreciation of the company's asset portfolio. On a regular basis you will be liaising and holding meetings with internal business stakeholders as well as quantity surveyors. You will be a key player in major property related projects including the development of an asset management program and the development of management reporting and analysis related to property. Standard month end duties will also be required of you in this role.
You are presently an experienced, motivated, and switched on Property Accountant working within an organisation with a large asset portfolio. You are CA/CPA qualified or working towards completion. You will have extensive experience in maintaining a large asset portfolio and experience around developing accounting processes that best reflect asset performance. You are proficient in using a large ERP system and Fixed Asset Software Applications such as Asset Pro and have a high level of accuracy and impeccable attention to detail. You are passionate about Property Accounting and thrive from Project work. You also possess excellent communication skills and strictly adhere to deadlines.
