Role Overview / Description
This Payroll Officer will be reporting to the Financial Controller and will be responsible for processing of the Payroll function and Assisting with invoicing. As the Payroll Officer, you will be processing the weekly payroll. You will be responsible for new starters, maintaining confidential employee files and records, and upgrading the payroll processes and manuals as required. This position will also be responsible for termination, back pay, redundancies and assisting with related month end payroll accounting and tax compliance. This would involve timesheets, bonuses and allowances as well as the interpretations of EBA, Awards, etc. On a day to day basis you will also be required to assist with invoicing, entering supplier invoices, RCTI's, coding, reconciling statements and answering queries. Your communication skills must be one of your key strengths as you will be required to assist internal and external customers with payroll related queries. The Job/ Duties / Responsibilities
- Processing new employees, maintaining confidential employee files and records, and upgrading payroll processes.
- Maintenance and processing timesheets, bonuses, allowances & maintaining the time & attendance system
- Month end payroll accounting and tax compliance including interpretation of EBA and awards
- Processing termination, redundancies, adjustments and back pay
- Assisting team with accounts payable function; creation of RCTI invoices, data entry; supplier reconciliation and payment runs
- Assist internal and external customers with payroll and supplier related queries
You are an experienced Payroll Officer with invoicing experience or a Bookkeeper and are looking for part time working hours. You enjoy having the autonomy to run the payroll function from start to finish and feel confident with being in an autonomous role. You have experience in an inventory environment, understand invoicing and RCTIs. You have excellent customer service skills and you have had strong processing experience. Your previous experience with MYOB (EXO or Premier) is a non-negotiable. You consider yourself a strong team player and have the ability to work diligently & autonomously.
