Location: South Sydney
Salary: $75k + Super (6 month maternity cover)
Role Benefit: Fantastic opportunity to showcase your Payroll expertise within a huge organisation for a six-month maternity cover contract.
This Payroll Officer reports to the Payroll Manager and will have complete ownership of the payroll from start to finish. You will be responsible for the processing for over 300 employees fortnightly including compliance with legislation, processing workers compensation and streamlining procedures. In addition to this, your role will see you setting up new starters with varying award rates and calculating termination payments. The successful Payroll Officer must have a solid understanding of taxation laws and employee awards within the global sector.
Your communication skills must be one of your key strengths, as you will be required to assist internal and external customers with payroll related queries. This is an excellent opportunity for a Payroll Officer to gain experience within a global organisation and build their resume.
- Process fortnightly payrun of 300 + employees
- Maintain employee files and records
- Work with stakeholders across the business to provide excellent customer service
- Preparation of Annual Returns for FBT, SPT, PAYG and Workers Compensation
- Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations
- Liaising with local tax offices
- Prepare and post monthly payroll journal from payroll system to General Ledger
You are currently a Payroll Officer with solid experience in all aspects of processing payroll and payroll accounting. You feel comfortable working within a team and excel in a fast paced environment. Those who have experience with large payroll systems such as ADP, SAP or Kronos will be held in high regards. You have a proven background in process improvement and have an excellent ability to work with finance and HR stakeholders at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are imperative to this role.
