Role overview

Reporting to the Chief Financial Controller, this National Credit Manager will be the right hand person to the Chief Financial Controller and will be responsible for determining the strategic direction and day to day running of the Credit function across Australia. On a day to day basis, your responsibility will include the leadership of a large and layered Credit team and have overall responsibility for national ledger, Credit Risk Management, Credit Governance and Policy, Commercial Negotiations as well as driving key improvement initiatives across all areas within Credit. Specifically you will be responsible with control over active accounts both minors and majors and dealing with any major disputes brought to you by the team. Your management responsibilities will include monthly debtors reporting, ledger compliance, setting and monitoring KPIs and managing key client relationships and queries. This National Credit Manager will build and foster key relationships with Business Unit Managers, Operational leaders, Finance as well as the sales teams. Therefore an ability to get business engagement within a large matrix environment is critical to your success in this role. Your role will also have a large risk management focus which would specifically involve the review contract terms and conditions and supporting commercial business negotiations.


Candidate Profile

You will have significant experience as a Credit Manager at a national level within a large global multinational or an ASX listed business. You have a proven background of sizable achievements around process reengineering, centralisation as well as credit KPIs and DSO reductions. You currently lead a large size team and consider yourself a strong manager. You are happy to be hands on with your credit responsibilities as well as have the visibility to delegate tasks to your team. Communication and diplomacy is your strength. Exposure to SAP, Oracle or a similar large ERP would be highly considered.

This role is at least 50% project focused especially in the first 12 - 18 months with the remaining 50% being team leadership, commercial negotiations and credit policy focused.
