Role Overview / Description
Reporting to the CEO this Financial Controller will be the right hand person to the CEO offering financial advice, leadership and strategic direction for the growth of the organisation. On a day to day basis, your responsibility will include supervising a Financial Accountant and having ownership of Financial Control and Compliance, Budgeting and Forecasting, Risk Management, Corporate Transactions as well as Company Secretarial duties. In addition, this CFO will take overall management of M&A opportunities as well as Business Valuation and Capital Investments. Where your real assistance will be felt is in a few main categories; firstly you will be the sage and guiding light for the CEO giving him meaningful reporting and insights into new markets, development profitability, operational cost saving initiatives and visibility across the organisation. This CFO will also be responsible for cash flow forecasting and capital management across the organisation.
Since the vision for this organisation is to expand into new markets and grow organically into the global platforms, you will be required to attend all new business road shows and lead the due diligence on all M&A opportunities. As the CFO you will manage a number of external relationships including ASIC, external auditors and international compliance authorities.
The Job/ Duties / Responsibilities
* Establish financial control and governance
* Support the CEO with commercial negotiations
* Develop and deliver on-going performance reporting
* Establish annual budgets and forecasts and deliver meaning insights to the executive team
* Drive month end close including ensuring sound financial operations
* Providing technical accounting advice and papers that may have impacts to the Financial Statements
You are a CA qualified Finance Professional with significant experience in the Big 4 environment. You may currently be sitting in a Big 4 firm as a Senior Manager, seasoned Manager looking to make your first move into commercial or may be sitting in a Group Finance Manager for an ASX construction, or property listed company. Either way, you will bring to the role positive energy, an appreciation in reinforcing of timetables and openness to instigate positive change.
