Role Overview / Description
As the Financial Accountant you will be part of a dynamic and fast paced finance team reporting to the Finance Manager. The Financial Accountant will take on the responsibility of providing support to the Finance Manager. On a monthly basis this will include taking full accountability of the P&L accounts and the balance sheet.

The day-to-day duties of the Financial Accountant will vary from general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable processing as well as general bank reconciliations. In addition to your daily tasks as the Financial Accountant you will be involved with the improvement of the overall performance of the accounting systems, processes and outputs. This is an outstanding opportunity for a candidate who has a thirst for learning, results driven and high attention to detail.

The Job/ Duties / Responsibilities
As the Financial Accountant you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • General ledger reconciliations
  • Preparing the monthly balance sheet
  • Provide month end reporting, analysis for key variances as well as supporting reconciliations.
  • Timely and accurate processing of journals and general bank reconciliation
  • Provide ad-hoc support to various analysis and reporting requests
  • Engage with and support internal and external stakeholders
  • Financial process performance improvement


Candidate Profile
You will be degree qualified and studying towards your CPA or CA. To be successful in this role you will be an ambitious self-starter wanting to take on the responsibility of multiple tasks and have a strong sense of urgency. To be successful in this role you will have previous experience with month end processing, P&L accounts, excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of accounting standards. Must have working experience with SAP and in a commercial environment.

The successful candidate will also be an outcome focused individual who works well in a fast paced finance environment, and has a desire to learn and grow.
