Role Overview

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this Accounts Payable Officer will be instrumental in the accounts payable space. You will be responsible for the overall duties of processing and reconciliation of supplier payments.

On a monthly basis, the successful Accounts Payable Officer will be assisting in month end reporting and supplier payment reconciliations. On a weekly basis, you will be responsible for the accurate weekly payment runs and cash flow for the ongoing supplier commitments. On a daily basis, you will have primary responsibility to operate invoices and payments with the use of your effective verbal and written communication skills.

The Job

You will be a work driven and skilful Accounts Payable Officer who will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Receiving and administrating incoming invoices in respect of purchase made from suppliers
  • Matching and filing invoices to goods received notes (GRN s)
  • Obtaining authorization for payment from line management
  • Processing of a high volume of supplier invoices, credit claims and transfers, accurately and timely
  • Able to provide ongoing development to the Finance team
  • Displaying initiative in all your day to day duties
  • Be able to resolve disputes relating to vendor payments


Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have extensive experience working as an Accounts Payable Officer within a high volume environment. You have worked in a standalone role or within a small team where you have had the full responsibility for Accounts Payable function and all related SLAs.You are system savvy and have a high aptitude to pick up a new system and skills with ease. By engaging your verbal and written communication skills, you will be quick in making decisions and promptly solve problems.
