Role Overview

Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, this Accounts Officer will be involved in the high end management of daily administration and accounting tasks including accounts payable (80%) and receivable functions (20%). On a daily basis, you will have full responsibility for the chasing purchase orders and processing of invoices. You will be involved in the end to end process of Accounts Payable as well as Accounts Receivable. This Accounts Officer will also be responsible for administration tasks, such as, answering incoming phone inquiries and processing orders at the same time. You will be following up customers by phone and emailing out invoices and customer statements. You will have full control of debt management and collection of money.
They essential factor will be your strong communication skills to liaise with key stakeholders and the ability to handle pressure in a fast paced team environment.

The Job/ Duties / Responsibilities

In order to be successful, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Creating purchase orders in an ERP software ideally SAP or experience in a large ERP system.
  • Processing a high volume of invoices- up to 200 a day.
  • Raising and emailing out invoices to key customers
  • Handling a debtors list for outstanding invoices
  • Solving system issues promptly in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintaining debt and collection of money
  • Chasing purchase orders
  • Following up customers on invoices
  • Time sheet maintenance
  • Bank reconciliations
  • General admin duties including ordering of office supplies


Candidate Profile

You will have extensive experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable roles. You are an Accounts Officer who takes initiative and is able to work independently and diligently. You have exposure to an ERP system (SAP or JDE).You have intermediate skills in Excel. With your excellent communication skills, you will be building relationships with key stakeholders and providing assistance across the whole business.
